Abrupt Climate Change: NYC Now Hottest, Hilliest City on Earth

That's how it felt to me, anyway.

I failed in my attempt to set a new personal best in today's New York Marathon, but it was a great race and a beautiful day in New York.  It was my first time running New York, and I have to say the fans are better than I've seen anywhere else.

Being a couple hours out of first place, I didn't get to see the finish, but I gather it was a real corker.  In case you both missed it and care, here's how the men's field shook out.

Tergat is the marathon world record holder.  Ramaala was defending NYC champ.  And Keflezighi - the American - was the runner up (and Olympic silver medalist) last year.  The endgame battle between Tergat and Ramaala was the closest finish in the history of the race, with less than a third of a second separating them.

Celebrity Sightings:  I was pretty certain Christopher McDonald (aka Shooter McGavin) was on my bus to the start, but a search of the entrant database shows no such participant.  I'll have to check the results.
Race Highlights:  Making each of 5 river crossings faster than I think I ever have in a car.
