Another Slain NYPD Officer Fights Back
Tragically, a second New York City cop died in the line of duty yesterday - the second such occurrence this year, and the second in two weeks.
On November 28, in an incident that escalated from a traffic stop, Officer Dillon Stewart chased his alleged assailant after suffering a gunshot to the heart, enabling other officers to later make an arrest. Yesterday, upon taking a gunshot to the chest, Officer Daniel Enchautegui fired back six shots (each of which hit one of the two suspects) before collapsing. Thanks to Enchautegui's tenacity, the suspects were unable to get very far, and were soon arrested by the backup officers Enchautegui had called.
In an odd twist, one of the wounded suspects is Lillo Brancato Jr., aka Matt Bevilacqua from "The Sopranos".

by: Anthony, age 28- I really enjoyed reading your story on this officer who was shot and faught back. I could not believe how he kept on chasing the two people who broke the law even though he was shot! It sounded almost like a scene from McGuyver or Magnum PI. Usually, when officers are shot, they stop and some can die. I really like it when I see strong muscle men cops like this hispanic officer--again, the officer is like McGuyver,Magnum PI, or even some parts of the program Crocodile Dundee!!! On line, I read too many negative things about NYPD officers--some can be very nice and I like how this focuses on strength of an officer, not criminality or wrongdoing. -Young man, age 28Posted by: Anthony J.
