John Hawkins at Right Wing News has posted a list of his Favorite Websites To Hit For News &/Or Columns. This gave me a brilliant idea: to do that.
These are my favorite troughs of knowledge to belly up to:
- Google News
- Google Reader
- Wall Street Journal Online
- Yahoo! Finance
- Drudge Report
- Fark
- RealClearPolitics
- Dept. of Homeland Security Daily Infrastructure Report

Flip, do you feel that The Motley Fool has switched from being the avant-guard "stop being stupid with your money" guy to being the "hot stock tipzzz!!!11!!!one!" guys (the exact opposite of what they used to prescribe)?Posted by: Nor | Jan 18, 2006 11:37:16 AM
Way to go out on a limb with the websites and deliver us with some fine diamonds in the rough. I never would have thought to go to main websites like Yahoo or Drudge Report. Townhall is another great trove of information unknown to most blog readers. Man, you really dig deep to get your information.Posted by: Flup | Jan 19, 2006 12:35:04 AM
Sorry to disappoint, "Flup". I didn't know if you could handle it, but if you feel you're ready, you can really peek under the rug at SuperSecretRightWingMarchingOrders.net. Good sources for news and analysis don't necessarily correlate with obscurity. Give me customization, comprehensiveness, searchability, rapid dissemination, proprietary insight, and transparency of bias, and you'll count me as a loyal user. (Incidentally, Fool.com still very much meets that bar in my estimation. Their offerings have always included fair bit of stock picking, in addition to their economic/market commentary, investing advice, etc., but it's always based on thorough fundamental analysis and fiercely independent.)Posted by: Flip | Jan 19, 2006 12:57:08 AM
Sorry, "Flip", but I was looking for something more than a copy and paste of your blogroll. The people reading your blog probably read all of your listed sites. Be remarkable, not normal. For example, you could talk about www.lifehacker.com, www.lostremote.com, or http://thecomicasylum.blogspot.com/. Give us something different, off the beaten path, or something entirely different (sans Fark) than the normal crap out there (I will say that Hedgeworld's site is as ugly as my colon).Posted by: Flup | Jan 19, 2006 2:13:38 PM
