Indulging the Nightmare Scenario

Hillaryhead Saturday mornings were made for Fox News Channel's The Cost of Freedom business block.  Always one of the highlights of my week.

On "Cashin' In", host Terry Keenan broached the uneasy prospect of what the stock market's reaction would be to Hillary winning the Presidency in 2008 (hmm... suddenly, my typing fingers feel strangely unclean).

Guest Jonathan Hoenig, who made the seemingly unassailable argument that she would be atrocious (given her strong track record of rebuffing free market forces on issues like school vouchers, socialized healthcare, taxation of oil companies, etc.), was nonetheless assailed with the suggestion that those who don't love Hillary are simply not ready for a female President.

Jonathan ended the segment with the howled zinger, "I'm ready for a female president, for a black president, for a jewish president - but she has to be a capitalist!"

I nearly stood up and applauded.
