Clichéd
I know Hollywood has a liberal bias, but I never got into the data behind the cliché. Recently, I came across a handy website that conveniently aggregates Hollywood’s political donations. This site allows us to quantify the bias.
So how bad is it really? Check it out.
Predictably, over 81% of these celebrities have contributed more to Democrats than to Republicans. In line with this statistic, the contributions of liberal celebrities to Democratic politicians account for 79% of all monies donated by Hollywood.
While we are quantifying bias, we should also consider the mainstream media. A study by the University of California at Los Angeles allows us to overlay the quantified bias of the MSM. The study concludes:
Of the 20 major media outlets studied, 18 scored left of center, with CBS' "Evening News," The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times ranking second, third and fourth most liberal behind the news pages of The Wall Street Journal.
In the end, nothing is new. However, it is always good to be armed with facts the next time a liberal colleague disputes the leftward leanings of the big and small screens.
