I Think I'll Go For a Walk Outside Now...
...the summer sun's callin my name. (I hear you now.) I just can't stay inside all day. I gotta get out, get me some of those ray-ay-ays.
Okay, it may be rainy outside, but it's a sunshine day nonetheless.
In addition to the "shake up" in the al Qaeda administration and the continuation of a weeklong pullback in oil prices, there's another round of stunningly positive economic news out today. According to a new Department of Labor report, jobless claims plummeted by 10% last week, down 35,000 (analysts expected a decline of 6,000).
The move - the largest in 8 months - was so drastic that some data watchers are wondering if it was some kind of anomaly.
For all you electorally-minded types that might be curious, the largest joblessness declines were seen in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
(Meanwhile, equity markets continue to slide, as Fed Governors just can't seem to stop beating the inflation drum.)
