D.B. Cooper Wannabe "Subdued" By Fellow Passengers

CooperWhile these incidents must be terrifying for those involved, I must say I really enjoy these stories.  It lets me know people are indeed staying vigilant.

A 20-year-old Wyoming man will be in East Boston district court on Tuesday after he allegedly tried to open the door of a JetBlue plane mid-flight Monday morning.

According to officials, Jesse Boyd was subdued by passengers and flight attendants. He was then placed in hand cuffs for the remainder of the flight.
...
Boyd will be charged with disorderly conduct and assault and battery.

I wonder if Cooper ever would've made it off that plane if he'd pulled his stunt post-9/11.  (Well, I suppose he'd have been 30 years older, so perhaps no longer in prime skyjacking shape, but you know what I mean.)  I expect he might have been similarly "subdued" as soon as he started making trouble.

This passenger Jesse Boyd had to be restrained for a half hour during our descent to Bostons Logan Airport. When a Flight Attendants is assaulted and it takes eight grown men to restrain him while we were in the middle of our flight its no joke.Let alone these fellows passengers and flight crew were not completly aware of who we were dealing with.My wife and two small children sat in row 17 seats ABCD.As soon as the flight Attendant yelled NO! NO! NO!.Thats all I needed to know that she needed help. This disturbed indivdual really could have caused major problems if he got to the door that was right near him.The Flight Attendant recruited good men to make sure we all landed safely.Beleive me this was not the way I wanted to spend new Years morning.I hope the authorities really look into his background. He obviously has mental problems and should never fly again minimally. The flight crew and the gentlemen that subdued "buck" Jesse Boyd should not be trivialized.
