Hold Still, Hillary. I'm Questioning Your Patriotism.

Hillary's American Idol gag reel-worthy rendition of The Star Spangled Banner at her big Iowa todo today is good for a snicker at Hill's expense, but in the end, her lack of singing talent isn't precisely relevant to her candidacy.  The video is currently headlining the Drudge Report, so by the end of the weekend, it will probably have enjoyed a few viewings.

I'm sure we'll hear some kind of zinger response from Camp Clinton like, "I may be tone deaf, but at least I'm not deaf to the will of the American people, like our dangerously out of touch President."

Still, while Hillary's inability to carry a tune may be out of bounds for substantive rebuke, not so her ignorance of the words to our National Anthem.  You can only hear her voice starting with "And the rockets red glare" so it's anybody's guess how well she knows the first half.  But she's clearly heard to sing "Oh say does our star spangled banner yet wave" rather than "Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave."

Even Roseanne got that right.  A scientific review suggests that only 1 in 7,000 people make that mistake.

It's a minor flub, but asking candidates for national office to know the National Anthem seems like a reasonable prerequisite.
