Pimp My War

The blogosphere is somewhat abuzz over Reid and Pelosi's formal plea for surrender in Iraq, tendered to President Bush today.  But much to my surprise, I came across what I found to be the most intriguing reaction over at lefty megasite Democratic Underground.

DU is usually fringy enough that it's not even worth noting its contributors' barminess, but on this point, I think they're right to take issue with the President.  Not only are Escalades gaudy, but the gas mileage is atrocious and not even the most ambitious customization is going to be able to reliably retrofit one with TOW missiles.

Bradley fighting vehicles and armored humvees may not have the cachet of a freshly pimped Sclade, but fashion and style should in this case take a back seat to combat effectiveness.

The President would do well to realize that.
