Time Flies When You're Having Fun
When Nancy Pelosi was selling her 100-hour plan, did anyone imagine that early extravaganza of open and honest legislative dealings would extend into March? Thanks to shortened work weeks and the concession that precious few Congressional hours actually count as "work", it's currently on pace to do just that.
With 8 scheduled days off for recess and retreats over the next 4+ weeks, we may not see the tick of that clock speeding up anytime soon. April 14th will mark the first 100 days of the 110th Congress. Think they'll manage to notch up 100 hours worth of work by then?
Given the results to date, I'm not wishing any legislative acceleration from Pelosi & Co. It's just a good thing she didn't throw "hardest working" in with the rest of her quickly abandoned superlatives for this Congress.
