GOP-Friendly Stat Of the Day

From Jim Geraghty's guardedly hopeful analysis of the 2008 electoral landscape (all of which is worth a read), one item stands out, vis a vis the Congressional balance of power:

In 2008, 70 Democrats will be running for reelection in districts Bush won in 2004. Four House Republican-held seats are in districts won by Kerry.

My observed quote of the day Seriously, what’s more scary, the threat of Global Warming, or the threat of folk music becoming popular again?

Good news. In very blue Washington state higher taxes lost and measures to limit tax increases won. And King County, where the 2004 governor's election was overturned in a flurry of "found votes" and strange practices, voted to have the county auditor elected, no longer to be appointed by County Executive Ron Sims.
