An Object So Dense, Not Even Sanity Can Escape

To quote Jacobim Mugatu, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

A special meeting about Dallas County traffic tickets turned tense and bizarre this afternoon.

County commissioners were discussing problems with the central collections office that is used to process traffic ticket payments and handle other paperwork normally done by the JP Courts.

Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections "has become a black hole" because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.

Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud "Excuse me!" He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a "white hole."

That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.

Mayfield shot back that it was a figure of speech and a science term. A black hole, according to Webster's, is perhaps "the invisible remains of a collapsed star, with an intense gravitational field from which neither light nor matter can escape."

John Wiley Price, you are the black sheep among your fellow Commissioners and your involvement in public affairs constitutes a black mark on Dallas County and a black eye to county taxpayers.

Update: Michelle Malkin has a few ridiculous updates to this story, including video of the Mayfield-Price kerfuffle that started it all.

And it gets worse. Price is not only defending his black hole/white hole protest, he’s gone further and proclaimed “angel’s food cake” and “devil’s food cake” racist terms, too. Oh, and “black sheep” is out as well.

Whoops - sorry for the insensitive slight.

But it turns out not even the profoundly deranged Commissioner Price is beyond racism's  long reproach.  Price himself is guilty of that most egregious Hate Crime conceivable: not supporting Barack Obama.
