"How Come I Would Make the Economy Better" by Barry Obama

In response to a wild day on Wall Street that saw a fairly major restructuring of the financial services sector, Barack Obama sat himself down and wrote an essay about what it all means.

Since Obama's background in financial writing has recently been exposed as something less auspicious than we were originally led to believe, the Presidential hopeful actually faxed off a draft of his statement to his 6th grade social studies teacher, to solicit her feedback.

In a worldwide exclusive, this blog is pleased to present the marked-up version of the document returned to Obama's campaign headquarters late Monday night.

(Yes, this is the real text of Barry's essay.)

I'd add some reading assignments -- "what is self-fulfilling prophecy?", for ethics ask if scaring people for political self-interests is morally acceptable, and since there's no body -- what are you proposing to do specifically that would have improved the current situation?

Thank you so much for this much needed laugh. You certainly deserve an A+. As to Barry, is it possible he made a typo in his title? Perhaps it was supposed to be, "How Come I Would Make the Economy Badder."

You know, if he wants to promote new rules and regulations; then he really needs a job in the Legislature where he can actually write and promote Bills; instead of just signing of vetoing what comes across his desk. Maybe he should get a job as a Senator. Then he can work on all the laws and regulations that he thinks we need. Oh wait... nevermind.

Obama is clueless on the economy. Here is someone who has never led anything in his life, not a business, not a Senate committee, nothing! He wants to raise taxes on small business and the "rich". For those who state he is cutting taxes on 95%, you are delusional, ignorant, or both. Tax credits are not tax cuts! How does Obama give a tax credit to someone who doesn't pay federal income tax??? Well, he'll just give 'em a check. That's not a tax cut; that's a welfare check through the IRS. The left-wing needs to educate themselves what a tax credit is before inaccurately selling it as a tax cut.

He should also avoid saying things like:
"For years, I have consistently called for ____________".

It reminds voters they'd never heard of him before about 8 months ago.

Oh, come on! Barry's essay is certainly trite, and most will agree it lacks the genius Barry's Band touts for him, but it's not an F, even on the senior year of high school or college 101 level Flip is trying to achieve. Flip would make a better English instructor if he didn't capitalize Presidential or insist on a archaic non-rule that one can't end a sentence in a preposition. Of course one can . . . in any medium except a British boarding school. Cool and funny, yes. Brilliant? Come on!
